Linyanti Concession Reserve

The Linyanti Concession situated in the Northern Botswana is home to large herds of elephants, endangered wild dogs, lions, leopards, red lechwe, hippo.

The Linyanti is spectacular all year round. The best time to see elephants in huge numbers is during the dry season, from May to October, while the best time to see the zebra migration is during the wet season, between February and April.

The Linyanti is part of a huge ecosystem that supports an abundance of wildlife the common ones like the Elephants, buffalo, red lechwe, zebra, giraffe and hippo and the resident ones like the lions, leopards, cheetah and wild dogs.

Birding is outstanding in Linyanti Concession, offering both Okavango specials, such as slaty egret and wattled crane, as well as the drier mopane woodland species, such as white-headed black chat, racket-tailed roller and coqui francolin.

The Linyanti’s climate is mostly warm, though it can get chilly in the mornings and evenings during the dry season, from April to September. The Linyanti receives summer rainfall, which most often occurs in the afternoons, between December and March.
