Lake Bogoria National Reserve

Lake Bogoria National Reserve is in the Great Rift Valley, Kenya, covering Lake Bogoria and the land immediately surrounding the lake.

Lake Bogoria National Park high season which is never gets crowded is from September to February which is its dry Season · It is sunny and dry, Flamingos are usually present and bird watching is excellent and migratory birds are present.

The reserve has a herd of the relatively uncommon Greater Kudu. Other large mammals include buffalo, zebra, cheetah, baboon, warthog, caracal, spotted hyena, impala and dik dik.

Lake Bogoria National Reserve has got over 135 species of birds that are recorded which include the little grebe, pratincole, swift, little bee-eater, cape wigeon, yellow-billed stork, African spoonbill, augur buzzard, gabar goshawk, water dikkop, great tit, starling, hornbill, crombec and among others. Lake Bogoria National Reserve is the best place in Kenya to see flamingos.

Being close to the equator, Lake has consistent temperatures throughout the year. Daytime temperatures are in the high twenties Celsius (low to mid-eighties Fahrenheit), while it cools off considerably at night. Along the lakeshore, temperatures are higher than on the top of the escarpment.
