Westair Aviation has been awarded BARS Gold status by the Flight Safety Foundation, becoming the only Namibian-based airline to hold such recognition for safety and quality.
Developed by the Flight Safety Foundation, the Basic Aviation Risk Standard (BARS) is the single aviation safety standard for the mining, oil and gas sectors. The Flight Safety Foundation uses a new risk-based model framed around the actual threats to aviation operations and links these directly to associated controls and recovery/mitigating measures.
Having met the standards of the BARS Gold designation and other audit requirements, Westair Aviation operates as an approved supplier to the resources sectors and works for several of Namibia’s top resource companies.
