Key animals found in Ruaha National Park includes elephant ,zebra, lion, giraffe, hunting dog, ostrich, greater and lesser kudu, grants gazelles, striped hyena, sable and roan antelopes, crocodile and hippos mainly in Ruaha River.
Birding in Ruaha National Park is extremely interesting and rewarding. There are 574 species recorded within the Park to date some bird species including the following Long-crested eagle · Meyer’s parrot · Namaqua dove · Sooty falcon · Southern ground hornbill · Tanzanian red-billed.
Ruaha National Park is hot and dry. Temperatures don’t vary much throughout the year. The warmest months are October to March, and the coolest are June to August. The Dry season occurs from May to October.
