Nxai Pan National Park is a national park in north-eastern Botswana, consisting of Nxai Pan, which is one of the Makgadikgadi Pan salt flats.

You can explore Nxai Pan year-round. But not much wildlife can be seen in the Dry season (April to October), when animals venture elsewhere in search of pasture, The pan is at its best during rain season which is from November to April when abundant animals can be seen but if the rains have been heavy the roads may be difficult to negotiate.
The Reserve is home to several animal species that come and gather here after the rains, among these are the great herds of Burchell’s zebras, wildebeests, gemsboks, elands, hartebeests other animals include the lions, giraffe, kudu, springbok and the impala.
Nxai Pan National Park is a very good destination for safari-goers interested in birding. More than 200 bird species have been recorded here. Many species of birds are found here which can be seen during summer time such as the bateleur, the martial eagle, the tawny eagle and the brown snake eagle
Nxai Pan National Park has well-defined Dry (April to October) and Wet (November to March) seasons, as well as a hot, desert climate. As the Dry season progresses, the park becomes more and more parched, with the heat reaching its peak in October
