Protecting our habitat as well as preserving our environment
Our commitment to the environment remains of paramount importance at Kilima. Striving to have a minimal impact on the local environment and the Maasai Mara ecosystem.
– Eco-tourism – The Eco-tourism Kenya has awarded a Gold Medal in July 2018. Showcasing our efforts to reduce the facility’s ecological footprint by design and forestation, extensive use of solar energy, water conservation (two purpose built dams to collect up to 12,000 cubic meters of rainwater) & having clear benefits to the local community including supporting the Maasai cultural village.
– Private Conservancy – Surrounded by our 300 acre private conservation for the preservation of environment and to provide a safe haven for our wildlife. 800 indigenous trees have been planted to aid reforestation.
– Community – Supporting them through providing and contributing towards education and employment.
Kilima Safari Camp is located in the area of Amboseli National Park, next to the Kimana Gate Park entrance.
The camp is set out on a 420 acre site with spectacular view of Mount Kilimanjaro.
The Kimana area of Amboseli is famous for its large elephant population.
Clients can enjoy great game viewing from their tents which face the animal water pools and all public areas and guest rooms are set towards Mount Kilimanjaro.
