Lewa Wilderness is one of Kenya’s oldest and most private safari ventures, synonymous with time-honored safari and excellent hospitality. Located in one of the most serene landscapes in Kenya, the lodge is one of only five tourism establishments on the Lewa Wildlife Conservancy. With rooms set amidst beautiful lush gardens or overlooking Lewa’s Eastern Marania Valley, Lewa Wilderness combines luxury with an authentic safari experience.
Kenya’s best family holiday – Safari Awards 2018
The beauty of Lewa Wilderness isn’t just in the incredible scenery and wildlife explored daily with game drives – but in the wealth of activities and experiences to be had at every turn.
Arrive as a friend and leave as a family.
SEASON
Lewa Wilderness has two seasons December – March, June – October. We close in April, May & November
MALARIA
Lewa is 5300ft above sea level so is a low-risk area for Malaria. However, given guests have to travel through Nairobi and will be visiting other areas in
Kenya, we recommend all clients take malaria medication.
LAUNDRY
A Laundry service, excluding delicates, is included in our rates.

CHILDREN POLICY
We have no age limit at Lewa Wilderness, and children under 5 years old stay free. We can arrange nannies for you, but this needs prior planning. This is an extra $35 a day.
All our activities are open to all ages at the parents’ discretion. We do however recommend being over 12 years old for bush walks and over 10 years old for flying in the Waco.
Located on the pristine Lewa Wildlife Conservancy, set against Mt. Kenya and surrounded by the Borana Hills.
Established in 1972 in the Lewa Conservancy in Northern Kenya,
Lewa Wilderness has nine comfortable, tastefully decorated, thatched cottages with spacious en-suite bathrooms, fireplaces in the sitting areas and verandas with spectacular views.
9 exclusive cottages - 5 hillside cottages and 4 garden cottages, ideal for multi-generational families
HILLSIDE ROOMS
6 en-suite cottages overlook Lewa’s Eastern Marania valley and are perfectly located for a wonderful sunrise wake up call.
Each room is designed and built by Will and Emma Craig, each one different to fit in with the changing hillside.
There are two triple hillside rooms which are great for teenagers, a couple with young kids or even three adults.
Room 10 can be used as a family unit (1 double room and a twin with 2 single
beds) and a plunge pool.
GARDEN COTTAGES
3 garden cottages each with 2 en-suite rooms. Each cottage has a shared sitting area, around a fire place and a veranda that opens
up on to the lodge lawns. These are perfect for small families wanting to be closer to the main house, and have the lawn in front of the cottages for their kids to play on.
