The Malagas Hotel offers 32 well-appointed rooms, created for optimal comfort. Offers home-style cooked meals with old-fashioned hospitality. Guests and visitors are welcome to visit our restaurant and Moxie’s pub, which opens daily.

On offer is a variety of relaxation in nature and adventure activities in the surrounding area. Access to the Breede River allows visitors to enjoy swimming, canoeing, motor boats and even a group effort on our pedalo (paddle boat). On offer also cruises on Houseboats!

The historic village of Malgas is a settlement on the South West Bank of the Breede River in the Overberg region of the Western Cape. Malgas has a significant variety of fish and bird life, and is one of the largest rivers in the country.

The Breede River Estuary is known for its variety of fish, which attracts birds such as Fish Eagles, Owls, King Fishers, and many more. Malgas lives up to its reputation as a perfect weekend escape!

In close proximity, is the species-specific Bontebok National Park. It ensures the preservation of the Bontebok and also forms part of the Cape Floristic Region, which is a world-wide heritage.

Witsand is a small coastal town, situated at the mouth of the Breede River. It is known for its good fishing spots and is also widely considered to be a whale nursery of South Africa. Another tourist attraction is the De Hoop Nature Reserve, which is famous for Whale Watching. Between July and November, is the perfect time of the year to enjoy this amazing experience!
