Whether guests are complete novices with a thirst for adventure or seasoned travelers in search of a unique experience, Taita Falcon Lodge is the perfect choice for your trip to Zambia.
Victoria Falls is a waterfall located on the Zambezi River, on the border between Zambia and Zimbabwe. It is one of the largest waterfalls in the world and is considered one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World. The local Tonga people call it “Mosi-oa-Tunya,” which means “The Smoke That Thunders.” The falls are approximately 1.7 kilometers wide and have a height of around 108 meters. The mist created by the falls can be seen from a great distance, and they are a popular tourist attraction in southern Africa.
1. The open air “bush camp” style accommodation
It’s one of the few ‘bush camp’ type accommodation experiences left around Victoria Falls with our chalets open to the breezes and birdsong.
2. The proximity to Victoria Falls
We are close enough to the Falls to access all the exciting activities but far enough to keep that remote and tranquil bush experience.
3. The breathtaking views
We can arrange all your Victoria Falls activities and our viewpoint over rapid 16 and rapid 17 means those who prefer to skip the rafting to take in the views can watch the thrills and spills in the gorge below.
Taita is located down river from Victoria Falls and a short 30min drive from Livingstone. High clearance vehicles are recommended.
The Falcon Chalets are designed to represent a falcon about to take off the edge of the gorge as a symbolic gesture of soaring to new heights and are great place to take in the peace and vastness of the gorge. A perfect retreat after a busy morning in town and around the Falls doing all the great activities on offer
5 en-suite chalets with ensuite bathrooms and views overlooking the gorge the lodge runs on solar, so we have 24hr electricity with plug points in all of the rooms. We do have Wi-Fi, but it is only available in the main dining and lounge area.
Spacious and private, this cottage is ideal for families, friends or corporate groups wanting their own space away from the other chalets and main area. The cottage consists of 2 ensuite bedrooms, 1 lounge, 6 seater dining table, sleeper couher (suited to one person), a stove and basic cutlery. (The cottage can be booked on self-catering basis if preferred).

White Water Rafting
The Zambezi River is widely considered to be the very best White Water Rafting River in the world. A deep channeled, high-volume river, the Zambezi has class 3 – 5 rapids interspersed with tranquil pools. And if rafting doesn’t appeal you, you can always opt for the more relaxing option of sitting on the Taita deck and watching the rafters go by!
