Chikwenya is a photographer’s paradise as it looks out over an open floodplain and the broad Zambezi River, with a backdrop provided by the mountains of the Rift Valley escarpment.
The camp is surrounded by a dense forest of albida and Natal mahogany trees, which provide deep shade in the heat of the day. The albidas shed their protein-rich pods during the dry season, providing vital sustenance for many species, particularly elephant.

This sublime seasonal Zimbabwean safari camp rests in a shady grove of albida trees, a favourite amongst Mana Pools’ elephants.
Chikwenya is situated in a private wilderness area, on the eastern side of the national park, with views over the Zambezi River and across to the magnificent Rift Valley mountains. Wildlife wanders freely between Chikwenya’s seven suites, open from April to November.
Exquisitely peaceful, Chikwenya’s seven elegant tented suites (including two family units with private pools) rest in a grove of shady indigenous trees, inviting elephants, stately eland, and an array of birds to the camp.

There are two spacious tented family units, each comprising one main bedroom with a king-sized bed and one twin-bedded room, both with their own en-suite facilities. Each unit has its own separate entrance with a shared outdoor deck and sunken seating area – the perfect space from which to soak in the magnificent views. Each unit has a shared private plunge pool to complete the picture-perfect setting.
