The Timbavati Private Nature Reserve is located at the border line between Hoedspruit (in Limpopo) and Acornhoek (in Mpumalanga), north of the Sabi Sand Private Game Reserve on the western edge of Kruger National Park.

    July to September (winter)

    The park is at its driest by September or early October. As water is scarce, the animals head to the waterholes, making them easier to spot. This is one of the best times of the year to visit the Kruger for wildlife viewing.

    The Kruger National Park is home to many different species of animals, from Eland to small antelope such as Duiker and Steenbok
    Some other animals found in the Park include the elephant, buffalo, rhino, giraffe, zebra, wildebeest, kudu, impala, waterbuck, warthog, hippo, crocodile, hyena, lion, leopard , wild dog , cheetah and various smaller antelopes and predators.

  • Birding

    The Best Time to go Birding in Kruger Park. Between October and March is when the bird population swells by approximately 200 migrant species.
    Some of the birds found in the Park include the common ones like the Eagles the Bateleur, Martial, Black-chested Snake, Brown Snake, African Hawk, African Fish and Tawny are all regularly seen, and in summer the Wahlberg.

  • Weather

    The hottest month in Kruger National Park is January, expect very hot days with little rain. The coolest month is June, and travellers should come prepared with during their visitation
    January is the hottest month in Kruger with an average temperature of 27°C (81°F) and the coldest is June at 16°C (61°F)
