The Kwando concession is a vast, remote and game rich area in northern Botswna, named after the Kwando river which forms the northern border with Namibia.
The Kwando Concession is located along the Kwando River (which later becomes the Linyanti and then the Chobe). The river disperses into the Linyanti Marshes, which is a permanent patchwork of reed beds, wetlands, palm-tree islands and open plains.

The best time to visit Botswana is during the dry season, which falls between May and October. Temperatures range between 75°F and 95°F, so you’ll enjoy warm, sunny days — just remember the nights can get much cooler, so pack accordingly.
The area hosts a number of animals the ones prolific include Elephant, buffalo, zebra and wildebeest There is a good variety of other herbivores including impala, red lechwe, giraffe, kudu and tsessebe. Lion, leopard and spotted hyena are common, but cheetah is rarely seen.
Birding in Kwando Concession is outstanding. The concession is great for Okavango specials, such as slaty egret, and the drier mopane woodland species such as slaty egret, and the drier mopane woodland species, such as white-headed black chat. Other birds present include African skimmer, Little bee-eater, Ostrich and Sacred ibis.
You are met with warm to hot weather, as well as a distinct Dry and Wet season. Don’t forget to pack warm clothing for early morning game drives and boat trips, especially in June and July, the coolest months of the year
