    By Air

Karongwe Private Game Reserve is situated approximately 1 hour away from Hoedspruit Airport. Airlines such as SA Airlink operates daily flights from OR Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg and regular flights from Cape Town International Airport to Eastgate Airport, which is situated near Hoedspruit. We recommend flying to Hoedspruit for your comfort.

Self driving to Karongwe is possible, but for comfort we usually recommend arriving by air.

    From Johannesburg
Drive onto the N4 towards Nelspruit. Travel past Witbank and Middelburg on the N4. Take the R540 turnoff to Belfast. Continue through Belfast and Dullstroom to Lydenburg. Take the R36 North to Ohrigstad. Carry on the R36 over the Abel Erasmus Pass and through the Strijdom tunnel. Approximately 10 km after the tunnel, turn left on the R36 towards Tzaneen. The Karongwe Game Reseve is situated on your right.

From here, guests can take a taxi or a local bus to reach Chisomo Safari

The most common self-drive route would be from OR Tambo International Airport and should take approximateley 6 hours.
